I think I’ve found “my” word(s) for next year!
Your word of the year is supposed to be your watchword, motto, slogan. It’s supposed to inspire you, help you focus, and provide some sort of guidance.
My word this year was “authentic” for “authentically Satis”. After the panic and excitement of coming out online on January 1, that motto made for a rather low-key experience. I guess I settled into being myself, my whole self, with all the complexities I hadn’t acknowledged up until the last couple of years. Nothing is really resolved, but there’s less panic and less agony overall.
For next year, I think my words are “nudge & nurture”. I don’t feel like wanting to crawl ever deeper into my cave anymore, to just hide from the world (I didn’t do that, but damn, I wanted to!). I may not be up to jumping into new adventures hey-ho like a true Gryffindor, but I guess I’m ready to push myself a little – as long as I don’t forget to take care of my mental and physical health solicitously.
