What Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie could learn from transgender women | Mic

Laverne Cox, Raquel Willis and others artfully explain why the novelist needs a listening session with transgender women.

Why I’m posting this link: I’ve been hesitating to reblog or post anything about this incident the way I always hesitate about reblogging or posting something about gender identity – I’m still scared that someone might react negatively to my personal experience. But I liked the tone of this MIC article, so I think it’s worth sharing it.

Thinking about writing.

I’ve been listening to Abney Park on and off for a week to get in the mood for a certain story I started years ago…

And it’s still there…

Here’s a snippet of my WIP, if you care to take a look:

Still thinking about journaling…

I’m still searching for a good inspirational journaling app.

At the moment I’m looking at “Five Minute Journal” (http://app.fiveminutejournal.com/), “little memory” (https://itunes.apple.com/…/little-memory-remem…/id514233379…), and “Grid Diary” (https://itunes.apple.com/…/grid-diary-simple-w…/id597077261…).

Has anyone ever tried one of those? Or do you have another recommendation?

Right now I’m tending toward trying out “Five Minute Journal”. (“little memory” seems a bit too bare bones, and “Grid Journal” already seems to have too many questions to face every day…)

Because Septentrion liked the idea of journaling templates…

I’m still shying away from actually getting started with my bullet journal, although I bought a really beautiful paperblank for that purpose last autumn. It’s so pretty! What if I mess it up? My somewhat more valid excuse is that I’m still trying to figure out for what and how I want to use it.

On the one hand there’s planning and habit tracking and getting things done, chores, paid work, personal projects. On the other hand, there’s journaling for emotional and mental self-care… reflection to improve my understanding of myself and my journey, gratitude for good things and appreciation of my life, allowing myself to acknowledge achievements to boost my self-esteem…

Do you have any tips and tricks? Do you do any kind of journaling or diary-type blogging?

How to Jumpstart a Journaling Habit with 7 Simple Templates

If you have a journaling template, you have a big advantage: you don’t have to figure out what to write! Templates are time-savers and they also reduce the friction of starting.

January 2017

I figured that if I can’t manage to write anything else, at least I should try to come up with a review of the month.

Thank you for asking about my pronouns

Thank you for asking about my pronouns. ♥

At the moment I would prefer it if you use just my name (Satis) and no pronouns.

However, I’m perfectly fine with singular “they” or with whatever is grammatically correct and respectful in your language.

Authentically Satis.

I’ve just realised something: No matter if I choose “calm” or “careful” or “able” or “focused” as my word of the year , depending on what life throws at me, I won’t be able to remain calm or careful or focused or anything at all.
