Carnival season is upon us. Where I am, it’s the old Pagan type of carnival, driving out the demons of winter with scary masks and whips and drums.
However, we also have a party, and yes, we do dress up for that.
HH has decided to be a priest (even a bishop or cardinal) this year. And yeah, I’m only rolling my eyes ever. so. slightly. Obviously, I’m going to be a Devil now. I’ve ordered horns and a trident (both plastic, I’m afraid), but organic red hair wax to make up for that. The black t-shirt I’ve ordered says “little angel” in German and there’s a devil’s tail under that. I need new black yoga pants anyway, and I actually have a proper black cosplay cape from when our dear late friend Mike celebrated his 50th birthday as a medieval feast in a real medieval castle eleven years ago. And I’ve decided to splurge and try out solid black contact lenses. They don’t come at quite my rate of blindness, but almost, so I guess I’ll be good for one night. Hell (he!), I’ve always wanted to try those out. So here’s to my creed of trying NEW THINGS EVERY YEAR, no matter how small, no matter how silly!
If you want pics, you will need to send me an e-mail because I will definitely not post them.
